Let me be real here. Sometimes I think I get a little too caught up in Instagram, in Facebook etc. How many likes we have, how many followers we lose. I’m struggling with that at the moment. Feeling like creation and individuality is not “celebrated” online like it used to be. I’m so caught up in the screen time, in the numbers, so when it comes to my real time people, I’m half the person I should be. This is a reminder for you, if you’re going through anything like me, to not to forget about being the best real life person you can be, to your friends and family. To do things that excite you, not just make a good photo or whatever. Leave the phone at home. To be truly proud of your work, even if it only gets half the likes you think it’s worth. The true supporters will love it, because it’s yours. They will love YOU, because you’re you. And at the end of this day, when this app is over or the algorithm changes again, they will be the ones who truly see you. Real life likes are more important. I’m trying to re-gain a healthy relationship with my online world and my real one: balance, you could say. And in the mean time while I do so, I’m going to enjoy one of my favorite things; the smiling faces of people I love, in real time. I hope you will take the time to do the same. Your social media should SUPPLEMENT your life, not be your life. (My beautiful friend @_tylala who I cherish more than words can say) (thanks for listening to my rant) ?? I’m not going anywhere, just changing and growing. And sharing. The way it should be ??
