Everyone has their own way of taking care of their boxing wraps. I get it. It’s personal.
This is what works best for me.
– Let your wraps dry after using them, and definitely before storing them.
I generally reuse them 2-3 times (unless they have blood on them). I tie them on a strap of my gym bag so they can dry out and not make everything else in my bag gross.
– Attach the velcro pieces.
I’m not sure how to describe it, so here’s a picture of what I mean:

Just flip the velcro over and attach it to itself. The reason I say to do this is that the velcro always manages to find my thumb loops and just chews them up. It also keeps it from attaching itself to anything else and destroying your good gym leggings.
– Wash your wraps in a mesh bag.
I don’t have a picture of my own, but you can get them anywhere. I like to use the small ones meant for bras. I washed a pair of wraps in a normal load of laundry once and they managed to wrap themselves around every single piece of clothing like a boa constricter.
– Keep your wraps stored nicely with rubber bands.
This only applies to you if you store your wraps like below:

I keep them stored this way because it’s way easier to put them on my hands if they’re in a ball. I just sort of roll them on without having to mess with a long end that gets so tangled. I also like storing them this way. They stay in pairs, look nice, and don’t take up much space. The rubber band is a great way to keep them from completely unraveling, especially when you just throw a pair in your gym bag.
Obviously, your wraps need to be completely dry before wrapping them up like this, or goodness-knows-what will grow in them.
I know we all have different ways of doing things. I’ve tried a lot of different things since I started boxing 10 years ago and this is what has worked for me.
Do you have any tips of your own?
